Most of our clients have taken many steps to make sure that their families are careful after they pass away. They set up Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney, but the people that they’re mainly looking out for their loved ones. For many of our clients their pets are just as loved as their family members are. For those clients we have a special trust that we can set up within their Family Trust known as a Pet Trust. A Pet Trust is extremely important if you have little friends you care about at home and want to make sure they are cared after you’re gone. Their needs can be watched after, and monetary allowances can be provided for , as well as a caregiver could be selected to watch after your pets. There maybe birds, cats, or dogs, but all these pets can be taken care through the use of a pet Trust. Having a pet Trust within your Trust would require a simple Amendment to your existing living trust but once it’s in place you can rest assured that you cared after all of your family members, including your pets.
